We all know Mondays are famous for motivation, but we all love to celebrate a Friday!
The end of the week is not only a great time to look forward to the weekend, but also a good opportunity to reflect on the wins that you and your team have had during the past week.
This blog explores some light-hearted ways that you can use that feel good Friday feeling to help build a positive culture and long-lasting engagement in your teams.
1. Let’s celebrate
Friday is a fab time to acknowledge and celebrate the week’s achievements. Consider gathering the team for a quick “wins” meeting where individuals can share their accomplishments, both big and small. Recognition is a powerful motivator, and celebrating success as a team helps foster a sense of togetherness and gives everyone a boost.
2. Friday freebies
Friday is an ideal time to present recognition and rewards to employees who have demonstrated exceptional performance throughout the week. Whether it’s a simple “Employee of the Week” award or a more elaborate rewards program, acknowledgment for hard work can have a significant impact on employee motivation and job satisfaction.
3. Keep it casual
Implementing a casual dress code on a Friday (or any day!) is always received well if your employees are site based and your working environment allows for it. More and more companies are opting for a more casual environment post covid and are using the ‘dress for your day’ approach throughout the week.
4. Wellbeing at work
While this is an important focus to have throughout the week, you have the opportunity to bring this to life in a more laid back way on a Friday. Try offering lunch time yoga sessions or waking groups at lunch. These activities have the added bonus of bringing people together to strengthen relationships with colleagues and promoting team working.
5. Friday forums
End the week by finding out what your employees are thinking and feeling at the end of their week at work. This can be anything from short pulse survey to open coffee forums to keep your finger on the pulse of your teams. Everyone wants to be heard.
Wrap up the week on a positive and set your teams up for a great weekend. We’ve all heard of the ‘Sunday scaries’ so do what you can to help your teams feel good about returning to work on a Monday and get them fired up for another successful week ahead.
Have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend!
